Backup overview demo

Imagine a household with a few buckets of files: photos, documents, videos, the rest. Harbor Dock connects to your existing cloud accounts and uses their free tiers as distributed backup, spreading files so each provider stays under its limit. Drag the sliders below to see how it allocates.

This is a static demonstration of the allocation logic, not the actual product UI. The real dock runs a similar pattern over a background sync, with file-level deduplication, encryption-in-flight, and provider-specific quirks handled (Mega's API rate limits, Sync.com's upload size caps, etc.). The pre-launch site doesn't show the live dashboard yet because there is no shipping firmware behind it. We'd rather show this honest mockup than a screenshot of something that doesn't exist.

If you want to see the math more concretely on the cost side: run the cloud-storage cost calculator. Or read the essay on free-tier distributed backup.
